What We Publish

We are an on-demand publisher of compact discs, books about music, and musical scores. Composers and scholars published by Yank Gulch Music include Michiko Kawagoe, Robert Morris, and Wayne Slawson, (see our list). We would be pleased to consider publication proposals by others. Please see our guidelines below.

Compact Discs

We specialize in computer and electronic music, and performances of the music we publish in score.

Books About Music

Our books are reprints of previously-published, out-of-print scholarly books about music that are still in demand.

Music in Score

Our music in score is typically chamber music in performing editions that include parts. Single copies are printed as orders are received.

Prices

As a general policy we price our publications at cost, plus a small royalty to be paid to owner of the published item, plus a fee for the services of Yank Gulch Music.

Information for prospective authors, composers, and performers

Authors, composers, and performers who wish to inquire about publishing with Yank Gulch Music may email us with a brief description of the proposed project.

Guidelines:

1. Yank Gulch Music may seek advice from scholars and composers in the field regarding the quality and probable demand for works proposed for publication.
2. For works accepted for publication, the proposer will be expected to submit a photo-ready copy of the work, or in the case of a CD, digital sound files and photo-ready copy for the printed material accompanying the CD.
3. The proposer must be able to document ownership of the rights to the material to be published, or to show that permission to reprint the material has been granted by the copyright owner.
4. In the case of books, a print run of at least 20 copies is necessary to keep costs down; accordingly proposers will be asked to advance the cost of that initial run. They will be reimbursed as the books are sold.
